BloomyBot
BloomyBot is the crawler behind Forage, a recipe discovery feed inside the Bloomy app. If you found this page from your server logs, this is what it was doing.
What it collects
For each recipe it finds, Bloomy stores the page’s title, its canonical link, the author, the times and servings, and a short extract of no more than 400 characters. Your og:image is referenced by URL, never copied — Bloomy hosts no image bytes for a find.
It does not store your ingredients or your method, and it is not used to train any model. Every find links back to your page; the recipe itself is only readable on your site.
How it behaves
- Reads your robots.txt before each crawl and honours it.
- Honours
Content-Signal: a group matching BloomyBot withsearch=nostops it entirely. - Skips any page marked
noindex. - Requests one page at a time, with a delay between them.
- Reads a feed or sitemap and only fetches pages it has not already seen.
How to block it
Add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: BloomyBot Disallow: /
It takes effect on the next crawl, and no request is needed to us. If you’d rather have your recipes removed from the index straight away, email support@bloomyrecipes.app and they will be.
